Where Do Our Beans Come From?
Due to fluctuating seasons and to maintain consistent availability of coffee to KCC customers, two suppliers are used for raw green coffee beans. Kanoa Coffee Co. is proud to work with suppliers that prioritize direct, personal partnerships with their farmers.

Sweet Maria's Coffee
Kanoa Coffee Company holds a humanitarian standard for the coffee beans that are sold. Certain beans we sell are proudly supplied through Sweet Maria's Coffee out of Oakland, CA. Thanks to Thompson, Maria, and their team, the beans roasted are harvested from fields staffed with farmers being paid fair wages, in accordance to a "farm gate" relationship. Sweet Maria's maintains positive, direct relationships with partnered farmers often paying close to 100% over Fair Trade minimums. Thompson has ensured an unmatchable level of quality assurance, both in product and farmer care, by frequently being with these farmers assisting with the process and connecting with their families. Visit www.sweetmarias.com to learn more about their story.
Burman Coffee Traders
In addition to Sweet Maria's, certain raw green coffee beans used by KCC are supplied by Burman Coffee Traders. Founded by Garry Burman in 2002, Burman Coffee Traders is a family operation in Wisconsin (originally Madison, now located in Middleton) focusing on specialty coffees while maintaining the value of fair pay to coffee farmers. Similar to Sweet Maria's, Burman Coffee maintains direct, personal relationships with its partnered farmers.
